This is a Centrally Sponsored Plan Scheme, which envisages developing amenities of the poor fishermen. In this scheme model fishermen villages are created providing low cost houses, drinking water facility through tube wells and also Community Hall. This scheme is continuing since 1987-88. During the year 2003-04 a sum of Rs. 104.00 lakhs have been provided by Government of India towards Central Share. Similarly State Government have provided a sum of Rs. 48.00 lakhs towards State Share for construction of Low Cost House. During the year work order have been accorded to 465 houses, of which construction work is going on.
