A. (5) DEVELOPMENT OF WATERLOGGED AREAS:

i) Brief content of the scheme:

There is a great scope for development of waterlogged areas of the State. SHGs of unemployed youth can be leased out the waterlogged areas for scientific fish culture.

ii) Incentive package available to prospective entrepreneurs:

iii) Other Support: (Training):

Advance level training on pisciculture in waterlogged area will be imparted by the District Level Fisheries Officers

iv) Eligibility of candidates:

  1. All interested farmers (both BPL & APL) / educated unemployed youths are eligible to get assistance.

  2. The beneficiaries should have clear Record of Rights (ROR) on the proposed project land.

  3. Having capacity to provide margin money & mortgage required by financing bank.

  4. Should not be a defaulter to any kind of loan.

v) Application format:

No specific format has been prescribed for this project. The beneficiary has to apply to District Level Fishery Officer concerned in plain paper along with his bio-date and land records in case of Entrepreneurs. In case of SHG having grading certificate, resolution copy for taking up the project and LTL permission of waterlogged Govt. land from concerned authority.

vi) Procedure for submission and approval of application:

  • The application can be submitted to the F.E.O. of concerned block or to the District Level Fisheries Officer with following documents.

    1) Land records.
    2) Source/ availability of water.
    3) Soil & water testing reports.
    4) Willingness of Financing bank.

  • Plan estimate and feasibility report to be prepared bys the FFDA cell of the District Fisheries Office.

  • Proposal to be submitted to the financing bank in the area of operation for sanction of loan .

  • Bank may study the feasibility by their Technical Officer and examine land documents etc. if necessary.

  • Project to be implemented under the active supervision of the F.E.O, /Junior Engineer and District Level Officer.

  • On compilation of the Project the District Level Officer will release subsidy.

  • Fishery Extension Officer at the Block level,

  • District Level Fisheries Officer at the District Headquarters,

  • Zonal Deputy Director of Fisheries at Zonal Level,

  • Deputy Director (Extension) at the Directorate of Fisheries, Orissa, Cuttack,
